Information for Parents of New Students

Welcome to Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and Fuquay-Varina High School. We look forward to our relationship with you and your family. Below are the procedures for enrolling:

1. Telephone the Student Assignment office at (919) 850-1921 to confirm that you live in this school’s attendance district.

2. If it is confirmed you are to attend Fuquay-Varina Senior High, please telephone Student Services at (919) 557-2521 to schedule an appointment for enrollment.
Office hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

***NO WALK-IN’S PLEASE***

3. A Parent MUST bring a picture ID and accompany the student to enrollment.

4. If you are NOT the parent or legal guardian of the student being enrolled (and the student will be living with you), you must contact the Student Assignment Office at (919) 850-1921 in order to be assigned to any Wake County High School.

5. You MUST bring the following documents:
a. Proof of residency
· Current utility bill (water, gas or electric)
· Signed valid lease agreement (signed by both lessee and the lessor)
· Signed purchase agreement with closing date prior to current date (signed by both purchaser and seller)

b. certified copy of birth certificate
c. immunization records
d. student’s social security number
e. withdrawal form, transcripts, report cards, etc from previous school
f. IEP if applicable (special programs)

6. If you are a foreign family, you must contact Student Assignment (919) 850-1921 or Tim Hart (919) 850-1835 in order to be enrolled at any school in Wake County.

Parents wishing to attend a school based on a future address must contact Student Assignments at (919)-850-1921. A Request for Transfer form must be completed.

Transfers
**North Carolina General Statute Section 115C-366 (a3) requires that a Discipline Status Enrollment Form be completed before a student transferring into Wake County Public School system my be enrolled. (This will be administered by a notary at the school.)
