School Administration
FVHS is served by a principal, five assistant principals and an administrative staff that is available to serve FVHS faculty, students and their families.

Administrative Support

Attendance Office
All students who leave during the school day, other than by an approved lunch pass, early release, or internship, must be checked out at the attendance office by a parent. Procedures for late arrival and returning from an absence can be found in the Student Handbook, pages 7 -9.

Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an integral part of the academic program at FVHS. We are proud of having one of the largest CTE departments in Wake County. The majority of FVHS students enroll in a CTE course at least once in their high school career. 

Custodial

English
Dedication to helping students read, write, and speak effectively and devotion to encouraging students to understand and appreciate the value of literature makes the FVHS English Department committed to “success as the only option.” 

Fine Arts
The Fine Arts Department at FVHS includes band, orchestra, choral music, drama, music theory and appreciation, art history and the visual arts. The department offers courses ranging from introductory level through honors and advanced placement.

Math
The focus of the mathematics department is to help students to develop the critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to be successful in both post-secondary education and in the career of their choice.  .

Physical Education
The mission of the Physical Education Program at Fuquay-Varina High School is to provide students with opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge, motivation, and behaviors that promote highest student achievement and a lifelong commitment to wellness centered on a healthy and physically active lifestyle.

Second Languages
The Second Language department offers students the opportunity to explore other systems of language, culture, values, and traditions while also reinforcing their native language grammar and syntax.   Students are taught not only the language, but to “think outside the box” and “test their comfort levels.”  

Science
The Science Department at Fuquay-Varina High school strives to have our students become knowledgeable citizens that use their educational experiences to make life changing decisions.  We want our students to have the broadest experiences from which to shape their futures.

Social Studies
It is the mission of the FVHS Social Studies Department to develop informed and active citizens. We encourage students to be life learners aware of historical, economic and social trends with an understanding of this relevance to their own lives.

Special Education Programs
The Special Education Department at Fuquay-Varina High School is committed to work cooperatively with colleagues, families, community, and our students for effective instruction; and to implement programs that maximize the attainment of scholastic achievement and learning for life for all of our students.” 

Student Services
FVHS Student Services provides a counseling program to promote academic, career and personal/social development to inspire students to be self-directed, life-long learners and citizens of character.
