From the Desk of the Principal:

This year is off to an awesome start! I am so excited to be a member of the Fuquay-Varina High School family and I am proud of both our students and staff for raising the level of expectations. Thanks to everyone for making our opening of school so terrific and "glitch" free. This has been a very smooth beginning--a sure sign of all the great things to come.

Over the past few weeks I have been asked to talk about or explain my vision for Fuquay-Varina High School. That is a difficult task because my vision is developing and blending with the hopes and ideas of those who were already at FVHS before my arrival. Our decisions and directions as an eductional community will focus on what is in the best interest of our students because we realize that students are the heart of the high school experience.

As a new principal I plan to do a whole lot of obsering and "getting to know" our school community. I want to know what kinds of things are happening academically as well as socially. It is important to know what is working well and what areas need improving before making a major decision. I always seek input from students, staff and parents when gathering information. Our promise is that we will give our best because our students deserve the best.

I have been pleased with our student involvement and level of maturity since the start of school. We expect our students to achieve their very best. Fuquay-Varina High School has a safe and orderly environment and is a place where academic expectations are high. Standards and procedures are clear and we will never accept less than excellence from our school community.

The PTA, parents, and Fuquay-Varina community have been so supportive since my start in August. I thank all of you for that support and I look forward to a year filled with excitement and high achievement.
