Mr. Edward McFarland - Principal
Mr. McFarland completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He received his Bachelor Degree in Music Education in 1990 and his Master of School Administration Degree in 2000. He taught band in NC middle and high schools from 1990-2000. He is currently pursing a Doctorate Degree in School Administration at NC State University.

Dr. Vera Confer - Assistant Principal Dr.Confer came to FVHS in August of 1999. She received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Masters of Public Administration from New Mexico State University. In 1992, she received her Doctorate of Education from Tennessee State University in Educational Administration. She has served as an academic advisor at Tennessee State University, and has taught at the elementary and community college level. Dr. Confer has been a board member of the Fuquay-Varina Citizens Against Drugs as well as one of the original grant writers for the initiative.

Mr. John Enns - Assistant Principal
Mr. Enns was born in Canada and moved to North Carolina in 2000. He graduated from the University of Windsor in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. He then attended Seneca College in Toronto and graduated with a Diploma in Aviation and Flight Technology. He is currently completing his Master’s in School Administration through NC State University. He is married and has a wonderful, albeit crazy, chocolate Labrador Retriever named “Lacey”.

Mrs. Teresa James - Assistant Principal
Mrs. James graduated from Florida State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She enthusiastically taught elementary school for twelve years. During that time, Mrs. James had the opportunity to serve as a grant coordinator and discovered a passion for leadership. That passion inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in Educational Administration. Mrs. James has served as Assistant Principal at FVHS since January 30, 2007. When she’s not supporting the Bengals, Mrs. James loves to spend time with her husband, daughter and son.

Mr. Robert King - Assistant Principal
Mr. King graduated from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh, North Carolina in 1978 with a BA Degree in Social Studies. He taught Social Studies at Fuquay-Varina High School from 1978-1997. Mr. King graduated from North Carolina Central University, Durham, North Carolina with a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision in 1998. July 2008 marks the 30th year of public education with the Wake County Public System and Fuquay-Varina High School for Mr. King.

Mr. Rob Morrison - Freshman Director
Mr. Morrison graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He taught math at FVHS from 1994-2007. He is currently the Freshman Academy Director and is working on a Masters of School Administration at Campbell University.

Ms. Sherrill Stanley - Assistant Principal for Instruction
Sherrill Stanley was educated in South Carolina and earned her degrees in education and educational administration from Winthrop College and The Citadel with some course work from The Pennsylvania State University. She began her teaching career in South Carolina and taught in South America before coming to North Carolina with the Wake County Public School system. She has been the Assistant Principal for Instruction at FVHS for several years and remembers an enrollment of about 800-900 students when she first came to the school. |
